“James was extremely knowledgeable about the home inspection, and was able to easily explain what all of the report details meant to me as a buyer. His report was thorough and his communications were fast and efficient. I highly recommend Bloodhound Home Inspections to anyone looking for a great overall experience for inspection services.”

Meet the Team
James Tillapaugh, the founder and chief hound at Bloodhound, comes from a family of builders. So he became a barber. Then, after years of being out of the business, he felt a yearning to get back. That’s when he started on the path to becoming a home inspector. What he found in common between the two professions was that focusing on the details makes all the difference in the world.
“Hi, I’m James Tillapaugh, Licensed Home Inspector”
“I became a home inspector because I wanted to help people make sensible decisions — especially firsttime home buyers. I own a home on the Island. I’ve lived here my whole life, and I love it. But in the rush to buy, I see many people get blinded by the wrong things: how high the ceilings are, for example, versus the condition of the house’s foundation. The kind of things that can lead to a ‘money pit.’ You ought to know what you’re getting into before you buy. Because finding out your foundation leaks after you've bought is a soul-crusher. That’s why we created the slogan ‘we dig deeper’.”
